Transportation is an important part in life. Especially, technological, economic, social, environmental and political issues in transportation systems are continually changed. So, it triggers  many things such as urban planning, network demand and modelling, freight, etc. Additively, the design, operation, and effectiveness of transportation services are closely associated with other social and economic needs. Thanks to developments of technology and information services, transportation is evolved in short periods. This requires transportation professionals to be well-trained in fundamental disciplines, to be able to adapt to change, and to have the vision and insight needed to implement creative options in a dynamic world. Objective of our research group  is to prepare our graduated or undergraduated students to identify, analyze, and to be able to simulate the complex transportation problems. Finally, it is targeted that solutions toward successful implementation to natural environment can be applied considering sustainable concerns. For this purpose, The Travel and Traffic Analysis Laboratory (TTAL) of METU was established within Transportation Division of Civil Engineering Department in 2006. In addition, TTAL group is a part of METU-BILTIR Center.
